Education Centers

This term, relative to hospitals and healthcare centers probably needs to be redefined.  In the past, education centers have been thought of as conferencing facilities, serving both staff and providing a facility for ever increasing patient education services.  Technology (IT and AV) have made these centers even more flexible, and provided access to the internet and multi-site conferencing.  More and more however, education centers are taking the form of simulation labs that allow hands on staff training in simulated environments, practicing procedures and general patient care.  We have a number of projects involving both of these types of education centers and can bring significant experience to your project.

Pediatrics

Our portfolio includes both inpatient and outpatient pediatric facilities, ranging from the smallest of infants (NICU Level Three Plus) to inpatient pediatric rehabilitation units. Pediatrics range from infants to young adults and therefore, the environment must appeal to a wide age range.  Whether designing an office for a pediatrician or developing a pediatric emergency department, our goal is to effectively provide care in an environment that minimizes the clinical nature of the space.

Physician Suites

Our firm has become specialists in developing effective designs for physician office suites.  We have completed approximately 250 projects of this type, ranging from primary care to suites for specialists that often include an ambulatory surgery center or procedure suite as a component of the design.  Sometimes our services are in connection with minor changes to an existing suite to resolve a problem.  However, the majority of these projects are new suites in buildings either designed by us or others. Times are rapidly changing.  Patients are no longer willing to sit in a waiting room for any significant period of time.  They want to be seen in a timely manner.  With reductions in reimbursement, practices also need to move patients through efficiently to be able to increase daily volumes.  New trends in the delivering of primary patient care include patient centered medical home models.  Our designs are based upon years of experience and incorporate new efficient models that still maintain patient dignity and privacy.
