Since its founding in 1982, CRGA’s mission has been to create healthy, sustainable environments for our clients.  Our experienced team of architects and interior designers is committed to the practice of sustainable facility design.  Our goal is always to develop an efficient design that meets the functional, environmental, ergonomic and aesthetic needs of the users, while respecting the financial budget of the owner.

CRGA’s focus is on service to our clients. The overwhelming majority of our clients return to us with additional projects.  With CRGA, our clients receive continuity in project leadership. The majority of our senior staff has been working together for more than twenty years. We take pride in our longstanding client relationships and the successful projects that we have completed together.

 

Charles R. Goodman, AIA, EDAC
Founding Principal

Charles R. Goodman, AIA, EDAC founded CRGA Design, formerly CR Goodman Associates, in 1982. Under his direction, the firm has completed hundreds of projects throughout the Baltimore-Washington region and the East Coast, and is continuing to expand the reach of its portfolio. His responsibilities include managing client relations, serving as CRGA's in-house medical planner, assisting with marketing efforts, and leading the effort to establish an intense training program for CRGA's younger staff so that he can share some of the experience he has gained as a healthcare architect and planner for the past thirty-five years.

Sandra C. Goodman, IIDA, CHID, LEED AP, EDAC

CRGA is a woman-owned business certified by the State of Maryland (16-258 MBE/DBE/SBE). As the majority owner, Sandra is responsible for directing the firm’s design practice. Sandy's responsibilities include business management, business development, and client and vendor relations management.  Sandy is also a Certified Healthcare Interior Designer. She serves as Principal-in-Charge on many of our Healthcare and Senior Living projects.

Rolf K. Haarstad, AIA, LEED AP, ACHE
Senior Vice President

As Senior Vice President, Rolf will help CRGA continue to build on our substantial healthcare portfolio - in addition to expanding us into other institutional markets through client development, design and branding. Rolf brings more than 30 years of experience to CRGA, having created HGA Architects and Engineers’ Washington DC-based healthcare studio.

Les' years of experience in architectural design and building construction have provided him with a valuable combination of practical building experience and structural and architectural training. He has performed Life Safety Analysis and managed the construction documents and construction administration phases for many of our healthcare projects.

Dave’s collaborative approach and his passion for healthcare design are exemplified in his thoughtful and innovative design solutions.  Dave’s hands-on approach to planning and programming aid him in steering projects from their conceptual beginnings to successful project delivery.
