About the Project

CRGA Design recently completed the renovation of the main floor of Life Bridge Health’s Ambulatory Surgery Center in Howard County, Maryland. In total, the design encompassed nearly 12,000 SF of space and the center became open to the public once again this June. Throughout the life of this project, our team worked closely with the end users to create an elegant, operationally efficient design that met the client’s operational and budgetary needs.

The project scope consisted of a renovation to an existing active surgery center over a total of five phases. This allowed the center to remain partially operational throughout saving the client valuable money and time. Phase One included the construction of a new scope wash room and equipment room. The total area of this renovation was 300 sq. ft. Phase two addressed the need for two 600 sq. ft. Class C operating rooms, sterile storage, decontamination and sterilization area, support space, EVS room. This phase of the renovation was 3,050 sq. ft. Next, the renovation in place of two existing 260 sq. ft. Class C operating rooms, equipment storage rooms was included in Phase three of the project. The total area of renovation in this phase was 2,600 sq. ft. Phase four was comprised of the renovation in place of twelve Prep/Recovery bays and support spaces. The total area of renovation was 3,300 sq. ft. Finally, Phase Five was the renovation in place of the waiting room, registration/check – in, Admin. area, staff lounge and lockers.
