About the Project

Anne Arundel Health System and Johns Hopkins Medicine formed a joint venture to construct a new ambulatory medical center in Odenton, Maryland.  CRGA Design was selected as the architect for this project which included the design of the building and all interior tenant improvements.  One of the suites within the building was an imaging suite, designed for Anne Arundel Diagnostics. Conveniently located on the Lower Level of this facility, this 6,400 SF diagnostic imaging suite offers a full range of services including the following:

  • One 3T MRI

  • One 16 Slice CT

  • One Fluoroscopy Unit

  • One Direct Digital Radiographic Unit

  • One Bone Density Unit

  • Two Ultrasound Units

  • One Mammography Unit

In response to the needs of the various patient demographics, the layout / planning of the overall tenant suite offers increased privacy and security for the Ultrasound rooms, Mammography room and the Bone Density room by internalizing these rooms and their clinical support spaces to create a Women’s Center.    Planning considerations also allow for the ease of future equipment upgrades as needed while maximizing spatial efficiencies through the use of a shared control room for the MRI and CT spaces.  Through the extensive planning process, consideration was also given to the privacy and comfort of the physician’s reading room by limiting the potential for noisy distractions and using specific finishes, colors, and specialized lighting as required.  The strategic location of this suite within the MOB also allows for the sharing of services from the adjacent Orthopedic and Physical Therapy suites.
