About the Project

The Nuclear Medicine program located at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC treats more patients annually than almost any other facility in the United States. Continued growth of Nuclear Medicine services at the hospital began to compromise the delivery of effective patient care due to the physical environment. The existing 5,000 square foot department located in the basement of the hospital inhibited patient throughput, confidentiality, and dignity. Approximately 13,000 square feet of space was allocated for a new Nuclear Medicine Department on the ground floor of the existing hospital. Consolidation and relocation of other clinical functions created two large contiguous areas for the overall project area. In conjunction with the project team, CRGA developed a program for the new suite that includes all administrative and clinical functions associated with nuclear medicine.
